Comparison of Clinical Efficacy of Mirena and Short-acting Oral Contra-ceptives in Preventing Recurrent Endometrial Polyps
Objective To explore the effect of Mirena and short-acting oral contraceptive(drospirenone and ethinyl-estradiol tablets)on postoperative prevention of recurrence in patients with endometrial polyps. Methods A total of 106 patients with endometrial polyps admitted to Nanjing Jiangning Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2019 to June 2023 were selected as the research objects and divided into the control group(n=53)and the study group(n=53)according to random touch ball method. The control group took oral drospirenone ethinyl estradiol tablets after the operation, and the study group placed mannuelle at the uterine fundus after the operation.Endometrial thick-ness and hemoglobin level, polyp recurrence rate before and after surgery were compared between the two groups.Re-sults At 3 months and 6 months after operation, the endometrial thickness of the study group was smaller than that of the control group, and the hemoglobin level was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.001).6 months after operation, the recurrence rate of the study group(1.89%)was lower than that of the control group(13.21%),the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.867,P=0.027).Conclusion In pa-tients with endometrial polyps, the adjuvant therapy of Mirena after surgery can reduce endometrial thickness,in-crease hemoglobin level, and reduce the risk of polyp recurrence, thus improving the prognosis of patients.
