Effects of Dapagliflozin Tablets Combined with Metformin on Insulin Sen-sitivity and Related Metabolic Indexes in Elderly Patients with T2DM
Objective To investigate the effects of dapagliflozin combined with metformin on insulin sensitivity and re-lated metabolic parameters in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 82 elderly T2DM patients admitted to Xinrui Hospital,Xinwu District,Wuxi City from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with metformin alone, and the observation group was treated with metformin combined with daglizin tablets. The blood glucose related indexes, insulin sensitivity and resistance, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Blood glucose related indexes, incidence of adverse reactions and homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, insulin sensitivity index was higher than that of control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the process of clinical treatment for elderly T2DM pa-tients,compared with metformin alone, the combination of dapagliflozin tablets can better improve the insulin sensitiv-ity of patients.Without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions, the relevant metabolic indicators of patients can be controlled to effectively achieve the goal of regulating and controlling patients'blood glucose.
