Clinical Prevention and Treatment of Worn or Broken Central Tip of Mal-formed Young Permanent Teeth
Abnormal central cusp is a common clinical abnormality of tooth morphology and development, which is manifested as conical cusp protrusion in the central fossa of the occlusal surface of teeth.Occlusal trauma can cause the central tip of the deformity to wear or break, exposing the pulp or dentin, leading to pulpitis, pulp necrosis and even periapical inflammation. The root tip of young permanent teeth has not yet developed, and the deformed central tip may be worn or broken, leading to pulp necrosis. The short root and thin root canal wall may lead to root breakage, and eventually lead to tooth loss. Therefore, early prevention and treatment of malformed central tip is of great clinical significance. This article reviews the prevention and treatment of wear or fracture of central tip of malformed young permanent teeth.
