Study on Antibacterial Effect of Chinese Medicine Mixture on Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus in Vitro
Objective To explore the antibacterial effect of Chinese herbal mixture on methicillin-resistant Staphylo-coccus aureus(MRSA)in vitro. Methods 40 strains of MRSA clinically isolated from the clinical Laboratory Depart-ment of Qidong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Jiangsu Province from January 2022 to June 2023 were se-lected.The value of minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of vancomycin and Chinese medicine mixture on MRSA in vitro was determined by microbroth dilution method.K-B disk diffusion method was used to determine the antibacterial effect of vancomycin and Chinese medicine mixture on MRSA,and to explore the influence of different drug concentra-tions on the antibacterial activity of MRSA.Results The MIC value of vancomycin was(1.56±0.55)mg/L,lower than that of traditional Chinese medicine mixture(1.63±0.62)mg/mL,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The diameter of the inhibition zone of vancomycin was(20.56±0.87)mm,better than that of the traditional Chi-nese medicine mixture(19.89±0.73)mm,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The diameter of the inhibition zone increased with the increase of the concentration, and the diameter of the inhibition zone of each con-centration of the traditional Chinese medicine mixture was greater than that of vancomycin, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The minimum inhibitory concentration of Chinese medicine mixture on MRSA in vitro is very low, which can effectively inhibit the growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
