Analysis of the Therapeutic Effects of Carotid Endarterectomy and Ca-rotid Artery Stent Implantation in the Treatment of Carotid Artery Steno-sis
Objective To explore the efficacy of carotid endarterectomy and carotid stent implantation in the treatment of carotid artery stenosis.Methods A total of 82 patients with carotid artery stenosis admitted to Dongping County People's Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects and were divided into two groups by random number table method,with 41 cases in each group.Carotid endarterectomy was performed in the ob-servation group and carotid stent implantation was performed in the control group.The scores of living ability,compli-cations and treatment time of patients in the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the Barthel index score of both groups were improved,and after 40 days of treatment,the score of the observation group was(82.66±3.20)points,which was higher than that of the control group(70.24±3.10)points,and the difference was statistically significant(t=17.850,P<0.001).Compared with the control group,the complication rate in the observation group was lower and the overall treatment time was shorter,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Con-clusion Compared with carotid stenting,carotid endarterectomy is more effective,has lower complication rate and shorter hospital stay.
