Efficacy of Early and Delayed Percutaneous Vertebroplasty for Symptom-atic Thoracolumbar Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures
Objective To analyze the results of early and delayed percutaneous vertebroplasty for symptomatic thora-columbar osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF).Methods A total of 70 patients with symptomatic thora-columbar OVCF admitted to Fengxian People's Hospital from January 2021 to June 2023 were divided into two groups by random number table method.35 patients with delayed treatment were used as control group and 35 patients with early treatment were used as observation group. The clinical efficacy, pain degree, complications and vertebral recov-ery were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 94.29%,higher than that of the control group(77.14%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.200,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in pain scores between the two groups before treatment and the first day after treat-ment(P>0.05).On the 3rd and 7th day after treatment, the pain score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The complication rate of the observa-tion group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The Cobb Angle of the vertebral body of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the height of the pos-terior margin, midline and leading edge were higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Early implementation of percutaneous vertebroplasty in symptomatic thoracolum-bar OVCF patients is effective, can reduce the pain of patients, fewer complications, and can improve the recovery of the vertebral body.
