Efficacy of Tofacitinib Citrate Combined with Methotrexate in the Treat-ment of Geriatric Rheumatoid Arthritis
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of tofacitinib citrate combined with methotrexate in the treat-ment of elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis.Methods A total of 86 cases of elderly patients with rheumatoid ar-thritis admitted to Tonghua Second People's Hospital from November 2021 to October 2023 were selected as study ob-jects,and were divided into the study group and the reference group according to the random number table method,with 43 cases in each group,and were treated with tofacitinib citrate combined with methotrexate as well as methotrex-ate,respectively.The clinical effect,disease severity,and inflammatory factors of the two groups were compared.Re-sults The clinical effectiveness rate was 95.35%in the study group,which was higher than 81.40%in the reference group,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.074,P=0.044).After treatment,the number of joint pres-sure and swelling in the study group was lower than that in the reference group,and the duration of morning stiffness was shorter than those in the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treat-ment,the level of inflammatory factors in the study group was better than that in the reference group,and the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Taking tofacitinib citrate combined with methotrexate in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly can improve the clinical effectiveness,enhance the effect of disease control and alleviate the inflammatory response.
