Relationship between Anticardiolipin Antibody Levels and Severity of COPD Combined with Pneumonia
Objective To explore and analyze the relationship between anticardiolipin antibody(ACA)levels and the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)combined with pneumonia. Methods A total of 80 COPD pa-tients admitted to Beijing Daxing District People's Hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as study ob-jects,and the patients were categorized into 61 cases in the COPD group and 27 cases in the COPD-combined pneu-monia group according to whether they were combined with pneumonia or not.Their serum samples were taken at the time of admission, and the serum ACA level was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the relation-ship between serum ACA and the severity of COPD-combined pneumonia was analyzed by Spearman's correlation analysis. Results Patients in the COPD-combined pneumonia group had higher smoking history, mechanical ventila-tion,C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, and COPD stage than patients in the COPD group, the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05),while forced vital capacity(FVC)and force expiratory volume in the first second/forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)were lower than patients in the COPD group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The serum ACA level of patients with COPD-combined pneumonia group(5.27±1.22)RU/mL was higher than that of(2.43±0.56)RU/mL in the COPD group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the serum ACA level gradually increased with the increase of COPD stage, and the differences between two compari-sons of the groups were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Spearman analysis showed that serum ACA was positively correlated with C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, and COPD stage(all P<0.01),and serum ACA was negatively corre-lated with FVC and FEV1/FVC(both P<0.01).Conclusion Serum ACA level was decreased in patients with COPD and anticardiolipin antibody was positively correlated with the severity of COPD and pneumonia, which is an impor-tant reference value for the assessment of the severity of the patient's condition.
