Study on the Chain-mediated Role of Self-efficacy and Family Function-ing on Sleep Quality and Negative Emotions in Stroke Patients
Objective To explore the effects of self-efficacy and family functioning on sleep quality and negative emo-tions in stroke patients and the chain-mediated role. Methods A total of 300 stroke patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College from July 2023 to February 2024 were selected as study subjects by ran-dom sampling method.Questionnaires were administered using the Family Assessment Device, the General Self-efficacy Scale,Irritability,Depression and Anxiety Scale, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale.PROCESS was used for mediation effect tests. Results The direct effect of family functioning on sleep quality was significant, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mediating effect of self-efficacy between family functioning and sleep quality and the mediating effect of negative emotions between family functioning and sleep quality were signifi-cant,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The chain-mediated effects of self-efficacy and negative mood between family functioning and sleep quality were significant, and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).Conclusion Family functioning can directly affect the sleep quality of stroke patients, both through the mediating effect of self-efficacy and negative emotions, and through the chain mediating effect of both.
