Analyzing the Application Value of Azithromycin in the Treatment of Pedi-atric Respiratory Tract Infections
Objective To explore the application effect and clinical value of azithromycin in the treatment of pediatric respiratory tract infections. Methods 80 children with respiratory tract infections admitted to the Department of Respi-ratory Medicine of Shanghai Anda Hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the study objects by purposive sampling method, and were divided into the control group and the observation group by randomized single-double-number method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ceftazidime, and the observa-tion group was treated with azithromycin. The clinical effects, symptom disappearance time, and laboratory examina-tion indexes of the two groups were compared. Results The total effectiveness rate in the observation group(95.00%)was higher than 80.00%in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.114,P<0.05).The disap-pearance time of cough and other symptoms were shorter in the observation group than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).7 d after treatment, the levels of procalcitonin,C-reaction pro-tein,white blood cell count, and interleukin-6 were lower in the observation group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Azithromycin in the treatment of pediatric respiratory tract infections can achieve significant effect, promote the symptoms to subside, and also can better improve the laboratory examination indexes.
