Effect of Open Reduction and Internal Fixation on the Treatment of Tri-malleolar Fracture and the Function of Ankle Joint
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of open reduction and internal fixation on the treatment of tri-malleolar fracture and the influence of ankle joint function. Methods A total of 70 patients with trimalleolar fracture admitted to Chengyang District Second People's Hospital,Qingdao City,Shandong Province from January 2021 to De-cember 2023 were selected as the study objects and were divided into two groups by random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The traditional group was treated with manual reduction and plaster external fixation, and the observation group was treated with open reduction and internal fixation. The level of bone metabolism, ankle joint function,surgery-related indexes and treatment effectiveness were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the level of bone metabolism indicators, surgery related indexes and ankle function in observation group were better than those in traditional group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.14%higher than 74.28%of the traditional group, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=7.467,P<0.05).Conclusion Open reduction and internal fixation in the treatment of trimalleolar frac-ture has significant effects, which can effectively improve bone metabolism, ankle joint function, surgical indicators and therapeutic effect.
