Effect of Memantine Hydrochloride Tablets Combined with Quetiapine in the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease Patients with Psychobehavioral Symptoms of Dementia
Objective To investigate the clinical value of memantine hydrochloride tablets combined with quetiapine in Alzheimer's patients with psychobehavioral symptoms of dementia.Methods A total of 84 patients with Al-zheimer's disease combined with psycho-behavioral symptoms of dementia admitted to Department of Neurology,Baiyin First People's Hospital from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects.They were divided into two groups by random number table method with 42 cases in each group.The control group was treated with meman-tine hydrochloride tablets,and the observation group was treated with quetiapine on the basis of the control group.Symptom behavior and cognitive score,sleep quality,adverse reactions occurrence and total effective rate were com-pared between the two groups.Results The Behave-Alzheimer's disease score of the observation group was(13.52±3.36)points,which was lower than(15.34±4.25)points of control group,and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.177,P=0.032).The total sleep time of the observation group was longer than that of the control group,and the sleep latency time was shorter,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in cognitive scores and incidence of side effects between the two groups(both P>0.05).Conclusion The addition of quetiapine on the basis of memantine hydrochloride tablets with strict dose control can improve the mental behavior symptoms and sleep quality of patients,improve the total effective rate,and the medication process is safe.
