Correlation Analysis between CRP and PCT and the Severity of Myco-plasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia
Objective To analyze the correlation between procalcitonin(PCT)and C-reactive protein(CRP)and the severity of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. Methods A total of 115 children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneu-monia admitted to Jiangdu People's Hospital in Yangzhou City,Jiangsu Province from January 2022 to April 2023 were selected as the observation group.A total of 115 healthy children who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group.According to the severity of the disease, the observation group was di-vided into severe group(64 cases)and mild group(51 cases). All children of this research are to extract fasting venous blood, detection of PCT and CRP levels, comparative observation group and the control index of PCT and CRP levels, different levels of PCT and CRP levels in children with illness,of PCT and CRP level and the degree of the disease for correlation analysis. Results The levels of PCT and CRP in the observation group were(0.19±0.16)ng/mL and(32.17±5.76)μg/mL,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the control group(0.06±0.01)ng/mL and(3.81±1.02)mg/L,the differences were statistically significant(t=8.696,51.991,both P<0.05).The levels of PCT and CRP in mild children were significantly lower than those in severe children, and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(both P<0.05).The levels of PCT and CRP were positively correlated with the severity of the disease. The more severe the disease, the higher the levels of PCT and CRP(r=0.414,0.614,both P<0.05).Conclusion Monitoring the levels of PCT and CRP in children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia can directly analyze the degree of dis-ease,provide scientific data support for clinical treatment, and monitor the treatment effect of children in time, which has far-reaching clinical significance.
