Intraoperative Frozen Pathological Diagnosis of Thyroid Micropapillary Carcinoma
Objective To explore the value of intraoperative frozen pathological sections in the diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods A total of 120 patients with suspected thyroid micropapillary carcinoma admitted to Huai'an Hospital,Jiangsu Province from January 2019 to May 2022 were selected as the study objects. All of them un-derwent intraoperative frozen pathological section examination and postoperative paraffin section examination. The re-sults of postoperative paraffin section examination were used as the gold standard to analyze the detection and diagnos-tic efficiency of intraoperative pathological section examination. Results Paraffin section postoperative examination was used as the gold standard, the detection rate of intraoperative frozen pathological section was 99.08%,sensitivity was 97.25%,specificity was 81.82%,positive predictive value was 98.15%,negative predictive value was 75.00%,ac-curacy was 95.83%,and kappa value was 0.760(P<0.05).Conclusion Intraoperative frozen pathological sections have a high accuracy in the diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer, which can identify the type of the disease,so as to adjust the surgical plan in time and achieve the purpose of improving the prognosis.
