Correlation between Plasma NT-proBNP and Coronary Artery Lesion Se-verity in Patients with Acute Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)and the severity of coronary artery lesions in patients with acute non-ST elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI).Methods A total of 54 NSTEMI patients undergoing interventional therapy admitted to the Department of Cardiology of Anshun Pingba District People's Hospital from January 2020 to October 2023 were selected as the ob-servation group, and 50 patients with normal coronary angiography results during the same period were selected as the control group. The detection and comparison of NT-proBNP in the two groups were conducted.According to the sever-ity of the lesions, patients in the observation group were divided into a mild lesion group(15 cases),a moderate lesion group(28 cases)and a severe lesion group(11 cases). The NT-proBNP levels in the 3 groups were compared to ana-lyze the correlation between NT-proBNP and the severity of coronary lesions. Results The level of NT-proBNP in ob-servation group[(615.43±111.32)pg/mL]was significantly higher than that in control group[(76.43±16.43)pg/mL],the difference was statistically significant(t=33.885,P<0.05).The level of NT-proBNP in the mild lesion group was significantly lower than that in the moderate lesion group and the severe lesion group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05),and the level of NT-proBNP in the moderate lesion group was significantly lower than that in the severe lesion group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that NT-proBNP levels were positively correlated with coronary lesions in NSTEMI patients(r=0.683,P<0.001).Conclusion NT-proBNP levels in NSTEMI patients were positively correlated with coronary artery lesions, and NT-proBNP levels in patients can provide guidance for disease severity and clinical treatment.
