Objective To investigate the efficacy of applying laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal(TEP)and laparo-scopic transabdominal preperitoneal(TAPP)in patients with inguinal hernia. Methods Ninety-eight patients with in-guinal hernia admitted to Rugao Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Jiangsu Province from June 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into the TEP operation group(49 cases)and the TAPP operation group(49 cases)according to the different surgical methods. The surgical conditions, complications rate,Vi-sual Analogue Scale(VAS),diameter of the spermatic vein and blood flow rate were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time was(63.54±7.54)min and the recovery time was(3.22±1.21)d in the TEP operative group, which was shorter than that in the TAPP operative group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=3.211,2.118,both P<0.05).The VAS scores of both groups at 1 month,3 months and 6 months postoperatively were lower than those at 24 h postoperatively, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Postoperatively,the diameter of the spermatic vein was smaller and the blood flow rate was faster in the TEP operative group than in the TAPP operative group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in intraoperative bleeding, hospitalization time, total complication rate, and VAS score at each time period between the two groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion TEP does not need to suture the peritoneum, does not en-ter the abdominal cavity, and the operation time is shorter than that of TAPP.Clinicians should choose the operation method reasonably according to the characteristics of the patient's condition.
