Analysis of the Efficacy of Transurethral Holmium Laser Enucleation and Transurethral Plasma Electrodessication in the Treatment of Benign Pros-tatic Hyperplasia
Objective To explore the difference between the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia by transurethral holmium laser enucleation and transurethral plasma electrodessication respectively. Methods 82 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia admitted to Huoqiu County Second People's Hospital of Anhui Province from January 2020 to September 2023 were selected as the study objects and were divided into two groups with 41 cases in each group by random number table method. The control group was treated with transurethral plasma electrodessication and the ob-servation group was treated with transurethral holmium laser enucleation.Surgical indexes, complications and progno-sis were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the observation group(92.73±8.94)min was longer than that of the control group, the intraoperative bleeding(51.36±5.48)mL was less than that of the control group, and the patients'bladder irrigation, catheterization and hospitalization time were(26.62±2.11)h,(3.66±1.02)d,and(6.27±1.12)d,which were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=12.775,23.628,31.350,6.774,8.989,all P<0.05).The complication rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with preoperutive, the maximum flow rate of the two groups increased, the International Prostate Symptom score and Quality of Life score de-creased at 3 months after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05),but the differences be-tween the two groups were not statistically significant(all P>0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of transurethral holmium laser enucleation and transurethral plasma electrodessication in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia is compa-rable,and transurethral holmium laser enucleation has a better hemostatic effect, fewer postoperative adverse reac-tions,and faster recovery.
