Comparison of Short-term Outcomes between TAPP and Lichtenstein Tension-free Hernia Repair for Inguinal Hernia in Young Adults
Objective To compare the short-term outcomes of young patients with inguinal hernia after application of laparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal prosthesis(TAPP)and Lichtenstein's tension-free hernia repair. Methods A total of 78 young patients with inguinal hernia admitted to Gaochun People's Hospital from December 2019 to De-cember 2022 were selected and divided into two groups by random table method, control Group(39 cases),Observa-tion Group(39 cases).Lichtenstein operation was adopted in the control group, and TAPP was adopted in the observa-tion group.Comparison of clinical indicators, inflammatory factor levels, pain status, total effective rate,short-term re-sults.Results The observation group had less intraoperative bleeding, shorter time to anal evacuation, time to get out of bed and hospital stay, and lower tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6,and C-reactive protein,Visual Analogue Scale of pain was lower, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total effective rate of treat-ment was higher in the observation group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The rate of complication and recurrence in the control group was 17.95%and 11.76%,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(7.69%and 4.76%)(χ2=1.835,0.634,both P>0.05).Conclusion The short-term efficacy of TAPP and Lichten-stein's operation for young patients with inguinal hernia is comparable, but TAPP can effectively relieve inflammation and low pain, which is more conducive to the recovery of patients.
