Objective To analyze the effect of transurethral resection of prostate in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods The clinical data of 100 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia admitted to the Third Hospi-tal of Xiantao from January 2021 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected. They were divided into different treatment groups,50 cases in each group. The traditional group was treated conservatively with drugs, and the explora-tion group was treated with transurethral resection of the prostate. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were com-pared.Results After treatment, the prostate symptom score and erectile function level score of the inquiry group were lower than those of the traditional group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The total ef-fective rate of treatment in the inquiry group(96.00%)was higher than that in the traditional group(82.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.005,P<0.05).Conclusion Transurethral resection of prostate has shown remarkable effect in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, which can not only effectively improve prostate symptoms, but also improve the erectile function of patients. The effective rate of treatment is significantly higher than that of conservative drug treatment.
