Application Value of Combined Detection of Fasting Blood Glucose and Glycated Hemoglobin in Screening of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To investigate the application value of fasting plasma glucose(FPG)and glycosylated hemoglo-bin A1c(HbA1c)combined detection in gestational diabetes screening. Methods The clinical data of pregnant women who received prenatal examination in Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February to September 2023 were retrospective selected.A total of 60 pregnant women with gestational diabetes were selected as the observa-tion group, and 60 normal pregnant women who came to the hospital for prenatal examination at the same period were selected as the control group. All pregnant women were tested for FPG,HbA1c and other indicators.Gestational diabe-tes mellitus was diagnosed based on the results of oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT).the receiver operating character-istic(ROC)curve was drawn to compare the predictive value of HbA1c detection,FPG detection and combined detec-tion for gestational diabetes mellitus. Results Compared with the control group, the HbA1c and FPG in the observa-tion group were higher, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The prediction value of pure HbA1c and FPG detection was low, while the combined detection of HbA1c and FPG detection was high, and the area under ROC curve were 0.805,0.743 and 0.842,respectively.Conclusion The combined detection of FPG and HbA1c has high application value in the early screening of gestational diabetes mellitus.Compared with the FPG or HbA1c test alone, the combined test is able to more accurately assess the risk of gestational diabetes, significantly improving the accuracy of screening.
