Study Progress of Perioperative Glucocorticoid Application in Pituitary Adenoma
Pituitary adenoma is a common intracranial neuroendocrine tumor, and the current treatment of choice for this tumor is endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery.Because of the unique neuroendocrine organ properties of the pitu-itary gland, maintaining the pituitary-target gland functional stability in the perioperative period has become a key concern.Hormones have long been applied perioperatively as an important alternative treatment option. In this article,we mainly review the studies on the application of glucocorticoids in the perioperative period of pituitary adenomas, hoping to provide useful reference for maintaining the stability of pituitary-target gland function in the perioperative period of pituitary adenomas.
