Therapeutic Efficacy of Nail Fold Crescent Excision Combined with Sub-ungual Tube Placement in the Treatment of Paronychia
Objective To study the efficacy of nail fold crescent excision combined with subungual tube placement in the treatment of paronychia. Methods 60 patients with paronychia admitted to Hunan Provincial People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into control group(modi-fied partial extraction)and study group(nail fold crescent resection combined with subungual tube placement)by ran-dom number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The clinical efficacy and recovery of patients in the two groups were compared. Results The cure rate of patients in the study group after treatment(93.33%)was higher than that of the control group(73.33%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.320,P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the control group(23.33%)was higher than that of the study group(3.33%),but the difference was not statisti-cally significant(χ2=3.666,P>0.05).Postoperative wound drying time and healing time of cured patients were signifi-cantly shorter in the study group than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.001).Conclusion The use of nail fold crescent excision combined with subungual tube placement for the treat-ment of paronychia can achieve more satisfactory efficacy, with a fast recovery.
