Exploring the Clinical Application Value of Combined Detection of WBC,CRP,PCT and SAA in the Diagnosis of Upper Respiratory Tract Infec-tions in Children
Objective To investigate the clinical application value of white blood cell count(WBC),C-reactive pro-tein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),and serum amyloid A(SAA)tests in the diagnosis of upper respiratory tract infections in children. Methods The data of 80 children with upper respiratory tract infections in children attending the Depart-ment of Laboratory of Laixi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2023 to February 2024 were retrospec-tively collected and included in the disease group.During the same period, the data of 80 healthy children who re-ceived health checkups in our hospital were collected and included in the health group.WBC,CRP,PCT and SAA tests were performed in both groups to compare the levels of these tests and the diagnostic efficacy of the above indica-tors alone and in combination. Results The levels of WBC(16.32±2.39)×109/L,CRP(36.52±7.25)mg/L,PCT(3.45±0.80)ng/mL and SAA(116.52±18.58)mg/L in the disease group were higher than those in the health group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=28.915,35.701,37.563,52.364,all P<0.05).The diagnostic efficacy of the combined tests were all better than that of the single tests(all P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of WBC,CRP,PCT and SAA has high clinical application value in the diagnosis of children's upper respiratory tract infections, which can significantly improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis, reduce the rate of misdiagnosis and omis-sion,and provide strong support for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
