Comparative Study on the Effectiveness of Television-assisted Thoracos-copy and Traditional Open Chest Surgery in the Treatment of Refractory Cavitary Pulmonary Tuberculosis
Objective To compare and contrast the effects of television-assisted thoracoscopic surgery and traditional open chest surgery in the treatment of refractory cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods The clinical data of 70 pa-tients with refractory cavernous pulmonary tuberculosis admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Guiyang Public Health Rescue Center, from April 2022 to October 2023 were retrospectively selected and grouped by different treatment methods. The traditional group(35 cases)received traditional open chest surgery treatment, and the thoraco-scopic group(35 cases)received television-assisted thoracoscopic surgery treatment.Comparison of surgical indexes, respiratory function, treatment efficiency, and complication rate of the two groups. Results After treatment, the intraop-erative bleeding of patients in the thoracoscopic group was less than that of the traditional group, the postoperative time with tube as well as the hospitalization time were shorter than that of the traditional group, and the operation time was longer than that of the traditional group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treat-ment,the respiratory function of patients in the thoracoscopic group was better than that of the traditional group, and the complication rate was lower than that of the traditional group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the therapeutic efficiency of the thoracoscopic group(97.14%)was higher than that of the traditional group(77.14%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.590,P<0.05).Conclusion The overall effect of television-assisted thoracoscopic surgery in the treatment of refractory cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis was significant compared with that of traditional open chest surgery, and it also improved the respiratory function of the pa-tients,reduced the incidence of complications, and increased the therapeutic efficiency.
