The Effect of Intravenous Immunoglobulin and Nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Ventilation in the Treatment of Severe Pneumonia Com-bined with Respiratory Failure in Children
Objective To explore the combined treatment effect of nasal continuous positive airway pressure ventila-tion(NCPAP)and intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)on severe pneumonia(SP)combined with respiratory failure(RF)in children. Methods A total of 88 children with SP combined with RF in Caoxian People's Hospital from Au-gust 2022 to July 2023 were objectively selected and divided into two groups by difference treatment, the control group were treated with NCPAP,and on this basis, the study group was treated with IVIG in combination. The effi-cacy,time for symptom and sign resolution, inflammatory factors, and adverse reactions of two groups were evaluated. Results The total effective rate of 95.45%in the study group was higher than 79.55%in the control group, the differ-ence was statistically significant(χ2=5.091,P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the study group had a shorter time for the disappearance of lung rales, shortness of breath, and cyanosis, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the study group were lower than the control group in high sensitivity C-reactive protein and interleukin-6,the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no statistically significant dif-ference between the two groups in the comparison of adverse reaction rates(P>0.05).Conclusion The use of NCPAP combined with IVIG in the treatment of children with SP combined with RF has a definite effect, can promote rapid resolution of symptoms and signs, and inhibit inflammatory reactions.
