Efficacy and Safety of Intensive Treatment of Atorvastatin and Rosuvas-tatin in Controlling Progression of Cerebral Atherosclerosis
Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of atorvastatin and rosuvastatin to control the progression of cerebral atherosclerosis. Methods A total of 160 patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction admitted to Tongzhou District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Nantong from January 2021 to January 2023 were non-randomly se-lected and divided into the study group and the control group according to the different medications used, with 80 cases in each group. The study group was treated with intensive therapy of rosuvastatin and the control group was treated with intensive therapy of Atorvastatin, and the therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total clinical effectiveness rate of the study group was 97.50%,which was better than 88.75%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.783,P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of carotid atherosclerotic plaque indexes and lipid indexes in the study group were better than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was lower in the study group, but the dif-ference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Intensive therapy with Rosuvastatin is more effective in controlling the progression of cerebral atherosclerosis, improving patients'lipid levels and stabilizing carotid athero-sclerotic plaques, with fewer adverse effects.
