Comparative Analysis of the Effectiveness and Safety of Ureteroscopic Hol-mium Laser Lithotripsy and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy in the Treatment of Ureteral Stones
Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy in the treatment of ureteral calculi.Methods This study retrospectively selected the clinical data of 100 patients with ureteral calculi who received treatment in 943 Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Joint Logistic Support Force from February 2023 to February 2024.They were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods,with 50 cases in each group.The conventional group received extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy and the exploratory group received ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy.The levels of inflammatory factors,incidence of complications,effective rate of treatment and stone clearance were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the levels of inflammatory factors and the incidence of complications in the explora-tion group were lower than those in the conventional group,the difference were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Af-ter treatment,the effective rate(96.00%)and the stone clearance rate(94.00%)in the exploration group were higher than those in the conventional group(82.00%and 80.00%),and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=5.005,4.332,both P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy,ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy has shown superior efficacy and more reliable safety in the treatment of ureteral calculi,with lower lev-els of inflammatory factors and complications,and improved treatment efficiency and stone clearance rate.
