A Study on the Correlation between Ferritin and Thyroid Hormone Levels in Pregnant Women
Objective To explore the correlation between ferritin and thyroid hormone levels in pregnant women. Methods 300 pregnant female patients who underwent prenatal examinations at the First Affiliated Hospital of Qiqi-har Medical College from January to December 2021 were selected and divided into three groups:early pregnancy group(≤12 weekends)(n=100),mid pregnancy group(13-27 weekends)(n=100),and late pregnancy group(28-40 weekends)(n=100).Additionally,100 healthy non pregnant women who came to our hospital for physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group.Compare the serum levels of free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),and ferritin among four groups. The correlation between ferri-tin and thyroid hormone levels in pregnant women. Results Serum TSH and ferritin levels in early pregnancy were lower than those in the healthy control group;the levels of serum FT3,FT4,and ferritin decreased significantly in the middle and late stages of pregnancy(all P<0.05).As the gestational age increases,TSH levels show an upward trend;the level of ferritin show a downward trend, and there is a significant difference between early and late pregnancy(both P<0.05).The Pearson correlation analysis results showed that there was a correlation between ferritin and serum thyroid hormone levels of FT3 and FT4 in the late pregnancy group(both P<0.05),while there was no correlation be-tween serum thyroid hormone levels in other pregnancy groups and normal control groups(both P>0.05).Conclusion With the increase of pregnancy, there is a positive correlation between ferritin and FT3,FT4 thyroid hormone levels in pregnant women in the late stage of pregnancy. This suggests that clinical attention should be paid to the abnormal thy-roid function and changes in ferritin levels in pregnant women,in order to provide early treatment measures for pa-tients and reduce the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
