Effect of Epidural Anesthesia on Labor Analgesia in Parturient Women and Influence on Estrogen Level
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of epidural anesthesia application for labor analgesia and its effect on maternal estrogen and progesterone levels. Methods 80 parturients in the Xingshan County People's Hospital from Oc-tober 2022 to October 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to whether or not took analgesic mea-sures,the control group(40,without labor analgesia measures)and the observation group(40,epidural anesthesia for labor analgesia),and the two groups were compared in terms of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),mode of delivery,dura-tion of labor,Apgar score, and estrogen and progesterone levels were compared between the two groups. Results At T1,T2,and T3,VAS(2.90±0.22,3.34±0.18,2.30±0.33)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(8.91±0.26,8.82±0.21,6.38±0.37),and the differences were statistically significant(t=111.603,125.308,and 52.047,all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the mode of delivery, duration of labor, and es-trogen and progesterone levels between the two groups(all P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in Apgar scores between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Epidural anesthesia for parturients analgesia, analgesia ef-fect is accurate,do not change the level of estrogen,do not affect the labor process, neonatal conditions, and will not increase the rate of cesarean section.
