Comparison of Blood Pressure Control Effects between Compound Formu-lations of Valsartan Hydrochlorothiazide and Valsartan in Elderly Hyper-tensive Patients
Objective To compare the blood pressure control effects of the compound formulation of valsartan hydro-chlorothiazide and valsartan in elderly patients with hypertension(HP).Methods 264 elderly HP patients who re-ceived treatment at municipal government hospitals in Zibo City from January 2020 to September 2023 were objec-tively selected as study objects,and were divided into the control group(treated with valsartan)and the observation group(treated with valsartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with valsartan)by difference treatment methods.Compare the clinical efficacy,blood pressure levels,vascular endothelial function,cardiac function and adverse reactions be-tween two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.97%(124/132),higher than 87.88%(116/132)of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(χ2=7.790,P<0.05);The diastolic blood pressure,systolic blood pressure,plasma endothelin-1,vascular endothelial growth factor,end-diastolic septal thickness,end-diastolic posterior left ventricular wall thickness level of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,while NO level was higher than of the control group,the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05);The incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Con-clusion Compared to valsartan,the use of a compound formulation of valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide in elderly pa-tients with HP has better clinical efficacy.The patient's blood pressure level is effectively controlled,vascular endo-thelial function and heart function are effectively improved,and less adverse reactions.
