Clinical Efficacy of Cefixime and Benzathine Penicillin Therpy in Patients with Syphilis
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of cefixime and benzathine penicillin in the treatment of syphi-lis patients. Methods 48 syphilis patients admitted to the Nantong Ruici Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were objectively selected as study subjects, and were divided into control group and study group according to treatment method, with 24 cases each. The control group was given intramuscular injection of benzathine penicillin, while the study group was combined with oral cefixime on the basis of control group treatment, and the therapeutic effi-cacy,clinical symptom remission time and adverse reactions of the two groups of syphilis patients were compared.Re-sults The total effective rate of the study group was 91.67%(22/24),higher than 66.67%(16/24)of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.547,P<0.05);The remission time of clinical symptoms in the study group was shorter than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups during drug treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment of cefixime and benzathine penicillin in syphilis patients is better than single treatment, which can improve the immune function of patients and the safety of the drug is good.
