The Effect of Metronidazole Membrane Combined with Minocycline Hy-drochloride Ointment on the Treatment of Periodontitis and on Elastase
Objective To analyze the effect of metronidazole film combined with minocycline hydrochloride ointment on elastase in patients with periodontitis.Methods 90 patients with periodontitis treated in Yanda Hospital of Hebei Province from February 2021 to May 2023 were non-randomly selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to different treatment methods,45 cases in each group.The control group was treated with minocy-cline hydrochloride ointment,and the study group was treated with metronidazole+minocycline hydrochloride oint-ment.The periodontal indexes,inflammatory indexes and elastase changes of the two groups were compared.Results The periodontal indexes and elastase levels of the study group were better than those of the control group,and the dif-ferences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Research group hypersensitive C-reactive protein wsa(4.25±1.41)mg/L,interleukin-8 was(6.25±2.51)ng/L and tumor necrosis factor was(2.51±0.57)μg/L,were superior to control group(6.34±1.34)mg/L,(8.61±2.66)ng/L,(3.78±0.58)μg/L,and the differences were statistically significant(t=7.208,4.329,10.476,all P<0.05).Conclusion Metronidazole film combined with minocycline hydrochloride ointment can improve the periodontitis related indexes,reduce the inflammatory response and the level of elastase.
