Clinical Efficacy Evaluation of Using Immunoglobulin Shock Therapy in Elderly Patients with Severe Community-acquired Pneumonia
Objective To explore the effectiveness of using immunoglobulin shock therapy in the treatment of severe community-acquired pneumonia in the elderly. Methods Eighty-six cases of elderly patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia admitted to Jinan Ethnic Hospital from September 2022 to December 2023 were non-randomly selected as study subjects. They were divided into two groups according to treatment methods, with 43 cases in each group. The reference group adopted conventional treatment program, and the research group used conventional treat-ment combined with the application of gammaglobulin shock therapy. The levels of immune function indexes,calcito-ninogen levels, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treat-ment,the immune function indexes of the study group were better than those of the reference group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The calcitoninogen level of the study group was(0.50±0.14)µg/L,lower than(0.79±0.16)µg/L of the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=8.945,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Gammaglobulin shock therapy for the treatment of severe community-acquired pneumonia in the elderly Section improves immune function indicators and reduces the inflammatory response.
