Clinical Study of Elderly Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Combined with Pulmonary Infections Treated with Ambroxol Hy-drochloride
Objective To study the effect of treatment with ambroxol hydrochloride in elderly patients with chronic ob-structive pulmonary disease combined with lung infections. Methods One hundred and fifty-eight patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease admitted to Jurong People's Hospital of Jiangsu Province from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected non-randomly and divided into two groups of seventy-eight cases each according to treatment methods. The control group was treated with terbutaline sulfate tablets, and the study group was treated with combined ambroxol hydrochloride.Compared the clinical efficacy, lung function indexes, symptom disappearance time, and the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 98.73% (78/79),which was higher than 91.14% (72/79)of the control group, and the difference was statisti-cally significant(χ2=4.740,P<0.05).The level of lung function indexes in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the time of symptom disappearance were shorter than those in the control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of ad-verse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary dis-ease combined with lung infections are well treated with ambroxol hydrochloride, which improves lung function and has a high safety profile.
