To Explore the Diagnostic Value of TRUST and TP-ELISA in Syphilis Di-agnosis
Objective To explore the diagnostic value of toludine red unheated serum test(TRUST)and treponema pallidum-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(TP-ELISA)in the diagnosis of syphilis. Methods Eighty-six patients with suspected syphilis admitted to Xingyi People's Hospital from January 2022 to October 2023 were non-randomly selected as the research objects. All patients completed TRUST and TP-ELISA tests. The treponema palli-dum par-ticle agglutination(TPPA)test was used as the gold standard to analyze the diagnostic value of TRUST and TP-ELISA.Results Among the eighty-six patients with suspected syphilis,eighty-one patients were diagnosed with syphi-lis,and the prevalence rate was 70.93% (61/86).The positive rate of TRUST was 59.30% (51/86),and the negative rate was 40.70% (35/86).The positive rate of TP-ELISA was 67.44% (58/86),and the positive rate was 32.56% (28/86).The sensitivity of TP-ELISA was 93.44% (57/61),which was higher than 80.33% (49/61)of TRUST,and the dif-ference was statistically significant(χ2=4.604,P=0.032).The accuracy of TP-ELISA was 94.19% (81/86),which was higher than 83.72% (72/86)of TRUST,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.793,P=0.029).Conclu-sion In the diagnosis of syphilis, the sensitivity and accuracy of TP-ELISA are higher than those of TRUST,but there is still a risk of false negative in the screening process.Clinically, the screening results of risk factors and other clini-cal indexs of patients should be considered comprehensively.
