The Clinical Effect of Vitapex Paste Combined with Root Canal Therapy in the Treatment of Apical Inflammation of Deciduous Teeth in Children
Objective To explore the effect of the combination of Vitapex paste and root canal therapy in the treat-ment of apical periodontitis in children's deciduous teeth.Methods Eighty children with primary apical periodontitis admitted to Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Jiyang District,Jinan City,Shandong Province from October 2022 to October 2023 were objectively selected and divided into two groups by different treatment methods,with forty cases in each group.The control group received a combination of zinc oxide clove oil paste and root canal therapy,while the observation group received a combination of Vitapex paste and root canal therapy.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the con-trol group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time for clinical symptom resolution in the observa-tion group(3.24±0.89)d was significantly shorter than(5.45±1.25)d in the control group,the difference was statisti-cally significant(t=9.109,P<0.05).After treatment,the plaque index,tooth looseness,and bleeding index in the obser-vation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Con-clusion In the treatment of apical periodontitis in deciduous teeth,the combination of Vitapex paste and root canal therapy can achieve ideal results,effectively alleviate clinical symptoms,exert anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ef-fects,and help repair the periapical tissue and improve oral hygiene.
