Study on the Change of Tear Secretion Level after Periorbital Surgery
Objective To investigate the change of tear secretion level in patients with double eyelid surgery.Meth-ods The clinical data of thirty-one patients(sixty-two eyes)who underwent open double eyelid surgery in Chifeng Chaoju Eye Hospital from December 2020 to September 2022 were retrospectively selected.The statistics of tear se-cretion,tear film rupture time,lacrimal river height and postoperative complications were examined before surgery,1 week after surgery,1 month after surgery and 3 months after surgery.Results There were no significant differences in tear secretion,tear film rupture time and lacrimal river height at all time points before and after operation(all P>0.05).The rupture time of tear film before surgery was(7.96±6.41)s,which was shorter than(12.90±6.49)s in one week af-ter surgery,and the difference was statistically significant(t=-4.02,P<0.05),but there was no statistical significance 1 month and 3 months after surgery compared with the operation(both P>0.05).No significant complications occurred in all patients.Conclusion The rupture time of tear film after double eyelid surgery was improved at 1 week after sur-gery,but double eyelid surgery had no significant effect on tear secretion and lacrimal river height.
