Dosimetric Analysis of Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy and Static In-tensity Modulated Radiation Therapy in Radical Radiotherapy for Cervi-cal Cancer
Objective To investigate the dosimetry of volumetric arc modulated radiotherapy and static intensity-modulated radiotherapy in radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer. Methods Sixty cervical cancer patients admitted to Taixing City People's Hospital from January 2018 to December 2023 were objectively selected, and they were divided into two groups by different treatment methods, with thirty cases in each group, the observation group underwent volu-metric arc modulated radiotherapy and the control group underwent static intensity-modulated radiotherapy). The dose distribution, total number of machine hops and effective treatment time of the target area and the endangered organs were compared. Results The dose of D2%,D95%and CI of clinical target volume-planned target volume and clini-cal target volume-planned target volume in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the HI and D98%indexes were lower than those in the control group. The doses of Dmean,V40 and D2%of the or-gans at risk(small intestine, spinal cord, rectum and femoral head)were less than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).The effective treatment time(82.35±6.34)d and total machine jumps 518.34±22.33 of the observation group patients were lower than those of the control group patients(342.72±10.62)d and 635.52±42.52,the differences were statistically significant(t=115.301,13.363,both P<0.05).Conclu-sion Both radiotherapy modalities can meet the dosimetry requirements, but compared with static intensity-modulated radiotherapy, the target area uniformity and conformity of the volumetric arc intensity-modulated radiotherapy plan are better, and the dose that endangers organs is less.
