Childhood masturbation(CM)refers to the behavior of pre-adolescent children to obtain pleasure through self-stimulation of the genitals,which is considered to be related to developmental behavior and psychological abnor-malities.There are few domestic and foreign research reports on this disease.Clinicians have insufficient understand-ing of this disease,and there is a phenomenon of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis.There is less popular science among the public.Parents are confused about this disease,and often misunderstand it as immoral behavior.They often do not seek medical treatment in time due to escape psychology,and delay the diagnosis and treatment of CM.In re-cent years,the treatment rate of CM has gradually increased.Improving clinicians'understanding of the disease and reducing unnecessary examination and treatment are the key to reducing the burden on parents and society.This ar-ticle reviews the etiology,clinical characteristics,differential diagnosis,comorbidity,treatment and prognosis of CM.
