Effect of Non-convulsive Electroconvulsive Therapy in Patients with Bipo-lar Disorder
Objective To analyze the effectiveness of non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy in the treatment of pa-tients with bipolar disorder. Methods A total of 100 patients with bipolar disorder who came to the psychiatric depart-ment of Heze Third People's Hospital from June 2020 to June 2023 were non-randomly selected as the study objects and divided into drug treatment group and combined treatment group according to different treatment methods, with 50 cases in each group. The drug treatment group was treated with quetiapine fumarate tablet, and the combined treat-ment group was treated with quetiapine fumarate tablet, combined with non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy. The scale scores and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no statistical significances in clinical symptoms scores between the two groups(all P>0.05).After treat-ment,the symptoms of the two groups were improved compared with those before treatment, and the combined treat-ment group was superior to the drug treatment group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The in-cidence of adverse reactions in the combined treatment group was 14.00% (7/50),slightly lower than 12.00%(6/50)in the drug treatment group, but the difference was not statistically significant(χ2=0.088,P>0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of bipolar disorder,non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy on the basis of drug therapy can effectively im-prove the condition of patients without increasing adverse reactions.
