Effects of Fluticasone Propionate Combined with Erythromycin on Clinical Symptoms and Lung Function in Children with MPP with Wheezing
Objective To explore the application value of fluticasone propionate combined with erythromycin in chil-dren with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP)accompanied by wheezing symptoms, and to analyse its effects on the children's clinical symptoms and lung function. Methods 120 children with MPP admitted to Wuxi Eighth People's Hospital from October 2021 to October 2023 were non-randomly selected, all of whom were accompanied by wheezing symptoms.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into two groups,60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with erythromycin, and the observation group was treated with fluticasone propio-nate.The changes of main symptoms and signs, forced vital capacity(FVC),peak expiratory flow(PEF),interleukin 4(IL-4),interleukin 17(IL-17)and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67% (58/60),which was higher than 83.33%(50/60)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.926,P<0.05).The improvement time of symptoms and signs such as cough, fever, wheezing and gasp in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the levels of FVC and PEF were higher than those in the control group, and the levels of IL-4 and IL-17 were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of MPP children with wheezing symptoms, the inhalation of erythromycin combined with fluticasone propionate can improve the overall efficacy, promote the regression of main symptoms, and improve the lung function of children.
