Evaluation of the Efficacy of Statins Combined with Sustained-Release Tablets of Felodipine in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Isolated Systolic Hypertension
Objective To analyze the effect of statins combined with felodipine extended-release tablets in the treat-ment of elderly patients with simple systolic hypertension. Methods Forty cases of elderly patients with simple sys-tolic hypertension admitted to the Ninth People's Hospital of Suzhou from December 2022 to August 2023 were non-randomly selected as the study subjects, and were divided into two groups of twenty cases each according to the treat-ment method. The control group received conventional treatment with felodipine extended-release tablets, and the ob-servation group used atorvastatin calcium tablets in combination on its basis.Compared the two groups'blood pressure level, blood lipid level, inflammatory factor indexes, and the incidence of adverse reactions. Results After treatment, the systolic blood pressure, blood lipid index levels, and serum inflammatory factor levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence rate of adverse reactions in the observation group was 5.00% (1/20),which was lower than 35.00%(7/20)in the con-trol group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.625,P<0.05).Conclusion The use of statins combined with felodipine extended-release tablets for the treatment of simple systolic hypertension in the elderly enhances effi-cacy,improves lipid levels, and reduces serum inflammatory factor levels.
