Analysis of Changes in Serum PCT,CRP,SAA and IL-6 in Children with Severe Pneumonia and Their Significance
Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of serum procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),serum amyloid A(SAA)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels in children with severe pneumonia. Methods 134 cases of children with severe pneumonia admitted to Zhangye Second People's Hospital,Zhangye People's Hospi-tal Affiliated to Hexi University, and Zhangye Ganzhou District People's Hospital during the period from February 2020 to February 2023 were non-randomly selected, and served as the observation group;they were divided into the mild group(n=68)and the severe group(n=66)according to the criteria of judging the condition. At the same time,130 healthy children who underwent medical examination during the same period were included as the control group. The serum PCT,CRP,SAA and IL-6 levels of the different groups were compared, and Pearson was used to analyze the cor-relation between the serum PCT,CRP,SAA and IL-6 levels and the degree of the disease. Results The serum PCT,CRP,SAA and IL-6 levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the serum PCT,CRP,SAA and IL-6 levels of the children in the mild group were lower than those of the children in the severe group, the dif-ferences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The changes in the levels of PCT,CRP,SAA and IL-6 were corre-lated with the changes in the condition of the children with severe pneumonia, and all of them were positively corre-lated(r=0.237,0.300,0.266,0.223,all P<0.05).Conclusion The combined measurement of PCT,CRP,SAA,and IL-6 levels in children's serum can provide an important theoretical basis for early diagnosis, early intervention, delaying disease progression and improving the prognosis of severe pneumonia.
