Effect of Menopausal Hormone Therapy on Vaginal Microflora in Peri-menopausal Women
Objective To investigate the effects of menopausal hormone therapy on vaginal microflora in perimeno-pausal women. Methods A total of 120 cases of perimenopausal patients admitted to Maoming Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to February 2024 were non-randomly selected as the study subjects.According to the treatment mode, they were divided into observation group and control group, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ghrelin, and the observation group was treated with meno-pausal hormone. The relative abundance of vaginal microbial communities at the genus level, vaginal microecological status, quality of life scores, estradiol 2(E2)and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the vaginal microbial community in the observation group was better than that in the control group at the genus level, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The vaginal microeco-logical abnormality rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statis-tically significant(P<0.05).The quality of life score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The E2 of the observation group was(69.58±6.26)ng/L,which was higher than(64.23±6.19)ng/L of the control group, and the FSH of the observation group was(23.79±6.71)U/L,which was lower than(34.88±6.65)U/L of the control group, with statistically significant differences(t=4.707,9.093,both P<0.05).Conclusion Menopausal hormone therapy modulates the vaginal microbiota in perimeno-pausal women, helping to improve patients'vaginal health, hormone levels, and quality of life.
