Forming and Mechanical Properties of 316L Stainless Steel Porous Materials by Selective Laser Melting
The metal porous structure can effectively solve the negative effects caused by the"stress shielding"effect of implants, which has attracted much attention. The porous structure of 316L stainless steel with different porosity was formed by Selective laser melting(SLM)technology. The surface morphology and mechanical properties of the stainless steel were investigated after the forming process. The results show that the surface of porous structure prepared by SLM has no obvious defects such as crack, collapse and warping deformation. The porosity of the formed porous structure is 60%-80%,and the elastic modulus is 3.156-4.906 GPa,which meets the requirements of matching human bone, and decreases with the increase of porosity. The compressive strength is 204~352MPa,and decreases with the increase of porosity, which is much higher than that of human bone.
