The Study on the Contribution of Higher Education to Economic Growth—Based on Panel Data of Liaoning Province from 2001 to 2020
Using the Cobb-Douglas function model(hereinafter referred to as C-D production function)and Denison growth factor analysis method,combined with labor simplification method and education composite index method,higher education in Liaoning Province and the whole country is divided into two decennial periods,2001-2010 and 2011-2020,and the contribution rate of higher education to economic growth in the two periods is obtained respectively.It is found that the contribution rate of higher education to economic growth in Liaoning Province has increased during 2001-2020,but on the whole,the contribution rate of higher education to economic growth in Liaoning Province is still low.Therefore,the government should continue to optimize the structure of higher education majors,strengthen the construction of university teachers and faculty,increase the investment in higher education,improve the policy of introducing talents,and reasonably allocate university resources to fully release the development potential of higher education in Liaoning Province,so as to create greater economic benefits for the economic and social development of Liaoning Province in the future.
