基于凯瑟琳·海勒斯的技术认知理论与"认知装配"这一概念,本研究搭建起一个经验考察的基本框架,并对上海城市运行"一网统管"系统、智己汽车自动驾驶系统和便利蜂算法管理系统这三个代表性个案进行了考察.研究发现,算法所扮演的角色——"义肢""分身""他者"——并非是由它的技术逻辑或设计者和使用者的意图所决定,而是在它所嵌入的认知装配中形成的.与之相关的社会影响与问题也不应被归因于部分人类行动者,而是与装配整体以及其所包含的诸要素之间的互动有关.通过此项研究,本文尝试为当前的批判算法研究补充一种超越传统二元框架的分析思路.
Abstract
This study intends to supplement the current critical algorithm research with an analytical approach beyond the traditional binary framework.Based on Katherine Hayles'technological cognition theory and the concept of"cognitive assemblage",this study establishes a basic framework for empirical examination,and investigates three representative cases:Shanghai Urban Operation'One Network Governance'System,the autonomous driving system of Zhiji,and the algorithmic management system of Bianlifeng.The research reveals that the roles played by algorithms,including'prosthesis','avatar',and'other',are not determined solely by their technical logic or the intentions of designers and users.Instead,these roles are formed within the cognitive assemblage in which they are embedded.The associated social impacts and issues should not be attributed to individual human actors but rather are related to the interactions within the entire assemblage and the various elements it encompasses.
