In order to find focus and trend on"regional image"research in China,this article uses Citespace and VOSviewer software to conduct visual analysis on 531 papers from 2013 to 2023.It funds that the research intensity has remained stable and most are concentrated in the field of journalism and communication with more obvious domestic characteristics.There are three main approaches of those research namely"regional culture","regional branding"and"media development".Based on the above findings,the paper summarizes the limitations of the relevant studies and outlined the future research trends.
