To address the high complexity of the per-survivor processing(PSP)algorithm in dealing with the blind separation of paired carrier multiple access(PCMA)signals,a reduced state se-quence estimation per-survivor processing(RSSE-PSP)blind separation algorithm based on the ex-treme data aid(EDA)is proposed. The algorithm is based on the existence of part of the extreme data in the PCMA signal, which could be highlighted after removing the frequency bias and phase bias from the parameter estimation results of a single source signal. Then the extreme data is em-ployed to directly demodulate the transmission symbols at the corresponding position of the source signal.Accordingly, the number of states to be traversed is decreased in the sequence estimation, which effectively reduces the PSP algorithm complexity, and avoids the error code at the extreme symbol position.Simulation experiments show that the RSSE-PSP algorithm outperforms the tradi-tional PSP algorithm in terms of separation complexity and separation performance under higher SNR conditions.
