Circular RNA(circRNA)is a class of covalently closed circular non-coding RNA(ncRNA)that plays an important role in regulation of gene expression,autophagy,apoptosis,proliferation,differentiation and other processes.With the development of high-throughput sequencing technique,more and more studies have shown that circRNA is widely expressed in heart tissues and is involved in the occurrence and development of a variety of cardio-vascular diseases.This article summarized the research progress of circRNA in cardiovascular diseases,and provided scientific basis for the discovery of potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
